Our Minister

The Minister at Roseville New Church is Rev. Julian Duckworth

Julian and his wife Ruth are from England and have lived in Roseville for 12 years. They have four grown up children. Julian spent ten years in primary school teaching, specialising in music, and Ruth has been a physiotherapist. They both take an active part in school programs and have opened the church to the local community in a number of ways. Their vision is to help people on their spiritual path and to provide people with the freedom and opportunity to do so.

Julian has a great love for the Bible and the symbolism lying below the surface. He is familiar with Hebrew and Greek and enjoys using the words of the Bible to shed more light on our spiritual life. He says that Swedenborg's spiritual teachings are a great joy and a bright light because they teach us how God is most relevant in the way we choose to live.

Sunday Service weekly at 10 a.m.

Our weekly service is a time together to give thanks to God and reflect on our life. We use a selected passage from the Bible each week to deepen our understanding of God's purposes for us and our response to God. We frequently include a guided meditation or a series of questions for quiet consideration. Communion is on the first Sunday of the month and open for everybody to share together. We have tea and coffee and fellowship together each Sunday after the service ends.

Angel Service weekly on Saturdays at 5 p.m.

This is a weekly informal service in which we use inspirational cards, discussion, meditation, healing and prayer, all of which helps us to reconnect with spiritual life. We call it the Angel service because we acknowledge the positive presence of angels who are with us bringing light and life.

Sunday School

Classes are held concurrently with the 10am service on each Sunday of the month. Children are in the church for the first part of the service.

A BIBLE REFLECTION

"Take your sandals off your feet for the place where you stand is holy ground." (Exodus 3 verse 5)
Each moment in life is a precious opportunity God gives us to use and enjoy. It is like holy ground. We need to stand barefoot in whatever moment we are in and put our own expectations and feelings, like sandals, aside.
